University Business Forum

Higher Education has to get more open to the needs and expectations of society, and in particular to the needs of the world of work. More and better avenues of cooperation between higher education and business are required. It is necessary to ensure a better flow and exchange of information and knowledge; reinforcing better mutual understanding and comprehension, developing trust and confidence between these two worlds.

The University-Business Forum, launched by the European Commission in 2008, is a very concrete measure to make progress in this area. It provides a platform to relevant stakeholders (including higher education institutions, companies, business associations, intermediaries and public authorities) for exchange of good practice, discussion of common problems and solutions, for mutual learning and inspiration.

A number of examples of good practice in the area of University-Business Cooperation can be found on this website in the section 'Compendia of good practice'. This website furthermore offers the possibility to interested parties to present and maintain their own examples of good practice by becoming active contributors. Providing yourself examples(s) of good practice and sharing them with your colleagues in other countries is straightforward. The only thing to do is to click on the option Register as a contributor to the compendia and fill in a short contact details form. We invite you to use this facility.
