Background

The seventh PLA in the Cluster on ICT focused on the theme ‘e-skills and digital literacy and partnerships for LLL strategies’.

Its main purpose was to discuss the key role of digital competences (or digital literacy) for lifelong learning.

Digital literacy consists of the ability to access digital media and ICT, to understand and critically evaluate different aspects of digital media and media contents and to communicate effectively in a variety of contexts. This broad definition provides the necessary context for working, living and learning in knowledge society, also for people outside ICT-related professions.
